Grupo Condumex

Grupo Condumex is part of Grupo Carso, one of the largest and most important conglomerates in Latin America.

Carso has four strategic sectors:

Energy – Carso Energy

Condumex was established in 1954 and since then, it has grown to be the one of the most important cable manufacturers with operations in Mexico, Brasil and Spain.

Our cables are used in Electric Power Distribution, Construction, Mining, Telecomunications, Transporation and Industry.

Grupo Condumex is the industrial subsidiary of the Company, in which are concentrated the manufacturing and marketing of products and services for the construction and infrastructure, energy, automotive industry, telecommunications and mining markets. It has 16 locations in Mexico, consisting of 13 manufacturing plants, 2 sales offices, and a research and development center.

Carso Energy

Carso Energy is the subsidiary that participates in petroleum industry activities, such as the exploration, discovery, production, exploitation, refining, transportation, purchasing and marketing of all types of hydrocarbons and minerals, the transportation of natural gas, and in the exploration for, and production and exploitation of geothermal energy. At this time it is participating in the Waha-Presidio and Waha-San Elizario gas pipelines in the State of Texas, USA, which are performing transmission services for the Federal Electricity Commission. The construction of the Samalayuca-Sásabe gas pipeline between the States of Chihuahua and Sonora continues. Carso Energy has ongoing petroleum operations in the Llanos Orientales of Colombia and exploration operations in Veracruz, Mexico, as well as geothermal exploration and exploitation operations in Celaya and Mexicali. Carso Energy is actively engaged in investments in gas pipelines, and in geothermal and petroleum projects, among other activities.

Grupo Sanborns

Grupo Sanborns is a Mexican company and a leader in retail sales, operating in multiple formats in every state of Mexico.

It has more than 549 thousand active SKUs, including electronic items, household items, furniture, clothing, pharmaceutical products, health and beauty products, books, videos, music, Apple brand products, toys, sports items, cell phones, and various technology products, among other merchandise. Additionally, it offers traditional Mexican food in its network of restaurants.

On December 31 of 2018 there were 170 Sanborns establishments with restaurant and store operations, 22 Sanborns Cafés, 48 MixUp music stores, 74 iShop stores, 98 Sears Department stores, 2 boutiques, 25 Dax stores, 2 Saks Fifth Avenue stores, and 2 shopping centers.
